Thursday “Think On These Things” Report:
True Comfort Is Having A Clear Conscience
Many of us believe that we find comfort in the indulgence of our desirable appetites. But yielding to temptation never can truly comfort the soul because it ultimately is contrary to the will of God for our lives. Jesus Christ never once yielded to any of the temptations that was offered to Him by Satan, and yet He walked this life experiencing full comfort. That is because He understood how the essence of true comfort comes from obeying the Will of The Father, the Creator of everything and therefore He knows what is best for all mankind. How can we possibly feel comforted yielding to temptation, whatever the temptation is, if we know that it is contrary to God’s Will? Sure we may find a moment of pleasure in the act, but ultimately our conscience will be disturbed and thereby we will not feel comforted.
True Comfort comes from a clear conscience, that is why we were left the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth and will lead us into all truth, which is also The Comforter! As long as we are walking in truth, obeying the truth, and applying the truth to our lives, we never have to worry about being comforted. For we can take comfort in knowing that obedience is better than sacrifice! So clear your conscience by repenting of your sins and take comfort today knowing that we serve a God who is faithful to forgive us of our sins and faithful to not allow us to be tempted beyond what we are able to bear. Halelluyah! Our God is Good!!!!!!!!!!! AMEN!!!!
1 Samuel 15:22 “And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.”
1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
1 Corinthians 10:13 “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.”
2 Corinthians 1:3 “Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;”
John 14:26 “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, He shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.”
