God Is Priority Or Pointless
Your relationship with God is NOT to be treated as a backup plan. There is NO substitute for God in your life. God is either the priority of your life, or he is pointless in your life because He does not and most certainly will not fit in any other spot than first place. You must know the role that God actually serves in your life, then you can properly identify whether or not there is a substitute operating in His place. Now look over this list and determine for yourself if you have any substitution in the place of God.
1) King: Ultimate Authority
Is Jesus Christ King over your life, where you obey His governing laws?
Acts 17:7 – “Whom Jason hath received: and these all do contrary to the decrees of Caesar, saying that there is another king, one Jesus.”
2) Lord: Owner Of Everything
Is Jesus Christ Lord over your life, where you submit your will to His?
Luke 6:46 – “And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?”
3) Saviour: Forgiver Of Sins
Is Jesus Christ the Saviour of your life, where you testify of Him?
1 John 4:14 –“And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the World.”
4) Provider: Sustainer Of Life
Is Jesus Christ the Provider of your life, where you rely on Him to meet your daily needs?
Philippians 4:19 – “But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
5) Protector: Refuge From Harm
Is Jesus Christ your protector, that which you trust to keep you safe from danger?
Luke 10:19 – “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”
6) Healer: Great Physician
Is Jesus Christ your healer, where you rely on Him to heal your sickness?
Matthew 4:23 – “And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.”
7) Counselor: Shepherd Who Guides
Is Jesus Christ your counselor, the one who leads and guides your life?
John 16:13 – “Howbeit when He, the Spirit of truth, is come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall He speak: and He will shew you things to come.”
