The Courage To Confess
One of the main reasons why people lie is because they lack the courage to confess the truth. Reality is, that it takes tremendous faith to own up to your wrongs, that is because you must believe that God is who He says He is. And who does God say that he is…. a merciful God, long suffering, slow to anger, tender loving, a forgiver of sins if only we are willing to honestly confess them. But fear has to do with torment, convincing the person that the consequences of confessing exceeds the consequences of concealing the truth. Wrong! Don’t listen to the voice of the enemy. Take bold actions of faith in owning up to your mountain of mistakes, for faith can move mountains. And rest assured that we serve a faithful and just God who will forgive you.
Psalms 103:12 – “As far as the East is from the West, so far hath he removed our transgressions from us.”
2 Samuel 12:12-13 – “For thou didst it secretly: but I will do this thing before all Israel, and before the sun. And David said unto Nathan, I have sinned against the LORD. And Nathan said unto David, The LORD also hath put away thy sin; thou shalt not die.”
1 John 1:9 – “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
Ephesians 2:4 – “But God, who is rich in mercy, for His great love wherewith He loved us.”
Hebrews 4:16 – “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”
