Thursday “Think On These Things” Report
Reach Out From Opportunity Not Obligation
You cannot create an opportunity out of the past. You can only create an opportunity out of the future. Therefore find comfort in forgetting the things that are behind, including past mistakes and failed attempts, and reach out to new opportunities that await before you. And one of the greatest, most simplest opportunities you can create for yourself is to communicate. Let it not be out of a place of obligation, but purely from the opportunity that God allows with each passing day. This will comfort the lonely soul that feels forgotten and left out. But ultimately it will comfort you as well, for when the opportunity is no longer available, you would be comforted in knowing that you took the opportunity when you had the chance to do something good for that of another. Not all comfort follows behind an affliction, but rather some comfort is initiated before there is even a perceived grief. This comfort is being created to lay a foundation for the future hard times ahead. So, will you find comfort in taking the opportunity that you have today, to communicate with someone you may not have the opportunity to communicate with tomorrow?
Philippians 3:12-13 “Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one things I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”
Hebrews 13:16 “But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.”
1 Timothy 6:18-19 “That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.”
Galatians 6:10 “As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.”
